5 stars (Exceptional) Great shots and a Max Von Sydow narration bring you under Lars' spell. Perhaps his most accessible movie. Important commentary on postwar Germany. ~bikewrench

3 stars (Good Enough) There are some memorable bleak scenes particularly early in the film but the generally interesting screenplay lost its impetus about two-thirds of the way through. The running time needed to be a shade shorter. ~Tubbs
