Epidemic

Aroview: Typically divisive earlier Lars von Trier effort concerns the making of a low-budget horror movie about a highly contagious disease, thrown into chaos by the arrival of an actual real-world epidemic. Playful and disdainful of filmmaking convention, this is one of the director’s more enjoyable formal experiments, here casting himself in no less than two pivotal roles.
