Brass Teapot, The
Aroview: This light-hearted black comedy tackles the economic doldrums with a quirky allegory, in which a down-on-their-luck couple come into possession of a magic teapot which produces money whenever its owners subject themselves to physical or mental pain.
The unusual premise is amusingly exploited via several clever set pieces, topped off by the perverse lengths its protagonists are willing to go to inflict pain on both themselves and others. Juno Temple and Michael Angarano make an engaging couple and extend the film's 'crossover' appeal beyond its indie pedigree.
