“A witty, appealing romantic comedy with a surprising edge. ”~The Age
Aroview: Real-life couple Dayton and Faris (LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE) direct real-life acting couple Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan in this zesty satire about a one-hit novelist who conceives of his perfect woman on paper, before willing her into actual existence.
Zoe Kazan also wrote the script, and her deconstruction of the modern relationship as cautionary tale recalls Woody Allen's meta-comedies, though her writing here bears the welcome hallmarks of a female touch.

3 stars (Good Enough) An exjoyable film that appealed to me on several levels, but lost its way in the second half (and I won't do more than to mention its cliche ending). Quirky and funny, with good performances. ~Tom H
3 stars (Good Enough) A woman writes a script about a man who writes a woman and learns about love...have fun decoding the levels of narcissism and wish-fulfilment! Stylish and well-performed. I don't know if I fully swallowed the conceit, but good enough. ~HiFi
2 stars (Good Try) Is a good short story but hasn't enough in it to last over an hour and a half. Frustratingly brief roles for Bening, Banderas and Gould. ~Tubbs
