Song One
“captures a similar, unselfconscious beauty in the way music can make sense of big, ungainly emotions ”~Sara Stewart, New York Post
Aroview: Sensitive drama set in New York's contemporary indie-folk music scene, with Anne Hathaway as a young woman who strikes up a relationship with her ailing brother's favorite musician.
Falling somewhere between John Carney's ONCE and BEGIN AGAIN, this doesn't pack the musical punch of the former but is vastly more authentic than the latter (also set in New York), with a satisfying focus on filial bonds as much as the obligatory romance. Features appearances by Sharon Van Etten and The Felice Brothers.
