Aroview: In the wake of the sudden passing of a young Anglo-Chinese man, his gay lover (Ben Whishaw) is compelled to connect with his widowed mother, a gesture fraught with barriers of culture, privacy and language.
When he enlists the services of a Chinese translator, the film largely dispenses with subtitles and offers a uniquely intimate understanding of his frustration, resulting in a moving and memorable performance from Whishaw, and the film as a whole.
