Tanna
“a haunting love story with classic undertones, affording a glimpse into a little-known culture.”~The Hollywood Reporter
Aroview: A fact-based "Romeo and Juliet" tale that took place on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu in 1987, this is a splendidly realized and moving tragedy where personal and communal will seem at irreconcilable odds.
The first feature film to be shot in Vanuatu is performed by a cast of non-professionals drawn from the Yakel tribe.

5 stars (Exceptional) Outstandingly acting by local villagers of a true story of the recent past. Wonderfully conveying the beauty of Tanna and its people, this unique film rightly deserves to be a global hit. ~Sandy
3 stars (Good Enough) A simple story that depicts some of the problems societies have when run solely by males. The two girls, the photography and the volcano are terrific. ~Tubbs
