Neruda
“A work of such cleverness and beauty, alongside such power, that it's hard to know how to parcel out praise.”~Jay Weissberg, Variety
Aroview: Universally acclaimed biographical drama about poet and communist senator Pablo Neruda, who was forced into hiding with his artist wife when the Cold War swept into Chile in 1948.
Beloved by the populace, they slip underground and are pursued by an incompetent, opportunistic police inspector hoping to make a name for himself by capturing the country's most infamous fugitive.

1 star (Turkey) What is about the Andes that, to the east (dry) side all the movies are great fun (Argentina), but only a few miles west (Chile, wet) they tend to be dull & overly complex? Neruda is considered a figure of mythic status here. Other reviewers disagree. ~Sandy
2 stars (Good Try) The attraction to this film was the title character but unfortunately, quite a bit of the screentime was devoted to his purser in whom I had no interest at all. An appetiser only for those interested in Neruda. ~Tubbs
