Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
“Eye-popping and in nearly ceaseless motion, Besson’s film has The Fifth Element’s same syncopated rhythm, a similarly whizzing narrative that introduces exposition in a frenetic flurry as it bounces and careens along”~Richard Lawson, Vanity Fair
Aroview: Expensive and extravagant space opera set in the 28th Century, where a team of special operatives investigate a dark force that threatens peace in the vast metropolis Alpha. Very much style over over substance, but a dazzling visual spectacle nonetheless. Based on the iconic French graphic novels by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières, which have provided a lifelong influence for director Luc Besson.
