5 stars (Exceptional) Ben Hur is a magnificent and epic film in every possible way: the set pieces, the action sequences, the script, (the running length) all amount to an all-time classic of the genre. ~Tom H
5 stars (Exceptional) Ben Hur is a classic film that is still great esp. the Chariot race scene ith Charlton Heston ~emjay
3 stars (Good Enough) All the action scenes are very well done but some of the padding is overdrawn and lacking in interest. Hugh Griffiths puts much needed interest and life into the performances with his character. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) It's easy to watch this movie and think "great" but really mean "expensive". Heston mostly acts through the veins in his neck. Dawdling script that mostly just connects set pieces. The chariot scene is harrowing, though. ~Pop&Coffee
