“Eggers has created a film of disturbing horror, absurdist comedy and probing psychodrama which defies the generic boundaries as it breaks through them. The Lighthouse is a saltwater gothic masterpiece. ”~CineVue
Aroview: A brilliantly salty psychological two-hander from Robert Eggers (THE WITCH), with Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe playing a pair of lighthouse keepers whose sanity crumbles when they are stranded on a remote island. A masterful mix of danger, comedy and intrigue dressed in impeccable late 19th century period detail, this is a gripping story from a film-maker of exceptional talent.

3 stars (Good Enough) No colours, lack of lighting, the sound effects, & the setting were well done. The screenplay using 2 characters was questionable - 1 person could have gone mad on his own equally as well if not better. The resulting cost saving could have been passed on. ~Tubbs
4 stars (Very Good) Brilliant verbose period piece well sold by the excellent leads, particularly Dafoe. Amazing cinematography, worthy of it's gongs. ~bikewrench
