Maiden
“Maiden simultaneously functions as a timeless ode to passion and a reflective account of a fascinating highpoint in the history of women’s involvement in the sports industry.”~Jonathan Christian, The Playlist
Aroview: Documentary about the all-female crew of the Maiden, who won the 1989-1990 Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race against all odds, upsetting the male-centric sports industry with their dramatic victory. Skippered by 24 year-old Tracy Edwards, whose ascent from being a cook with male-led crews to leading her own crew of 12 after buying the Maiden provides the emotional centerpiece of this exhilarating story.

5 stars (Exceptional) Beautifully made documentary. A universal story set in the context of sailing: determination in the face of obstacles that looked insurmountable, including bare faced sexism. A wonderful watch. ~Haystack
2 stars (Good Try) One of the better yachting films. ~Tubbs
