“Saint Judy has a serious agenda and, in service of that, it eschews action scenes, thriller elements, and conventional contrivances. It tells a worthwhile story and provides a primer on aspects of immigration law without becoming didactic.”~James Berardinelli, ReelViews
Aroview: Biopic telling the incredible true story of Los Angeles immigration attorney Judy Wood, who single-handedly changed asylum law in the USA to include women as part of a "protected class" that previously only included refugees and political dissidents.
A dedicated and passionate lawyer, played by talented and oft under-utilised actress Michelle Monaghan, Woods focusses on the asylum application of a young Afghani woman in her efforts to set a legal precedent, which ultimately saved the lives of thousands of women. Though the screenplay is formulaic at times, and tone can feel a little didactic, this is a story worth telling, and offers real insights into the world of immigration law.

5 stars (Exceptional) Likeable characters; very well-played. Great plot & script keeps you guessing. Very accurately portrays current situation in Afghanistan today with the Taliban. Realistic and very moving. Recommended for anyone who strongly cares about women's lives. ~Anon
