Disc 1:
The Age of Medici (1972, 255 min) - A wonderfully expansive miniseries about renaissance Florentine history, bringing paintings from the 15th Century to life, with a score by Manuel de Sica.
Discs 2 & 3:
Cartesius (1974, 150 min) - Explores the life and thought of French philosopher René Descartes (1596-1650), whose line "I think, therefore I am" catapulted civilisation into The Enlightenment.
Blaise Pascal (1972, 135) - Evocative portrait of the philosopher and mathematician who faced religious persecution in the 17th century for his progressive views on god and science.
