Funeral Parade of Roses
Aroview: A bold and significant product of the Japanese New Wave that loosely transposes Oedipus Rex to the underground gay culture of 1960s Tokyo with a transgender protagonist played by the beautiful 'Peter'.
Part docu-drama, part surrealist experiment, it possesses a striking black-and-white aesthetic and has many memorable scenes, some seemingly directly influential (to put it politely) on Stanley Kubrick's A CLOCKWORK ORANGE.
