Fanny Lye Deliver'd
“Both amusing and unsettling, this character-driven thriller finds the right mix of camp and conviction while exploring spiritual freedom and sexual liberation in rural 17th century England.”~Cinemalogue
Aroview: British period thriller set in 1657 on a Shropshire farm, where Fanny Lye (the magnificent Maxine Peake) is living a quiet, puritan life until the arrival of a mysterious young couple threatens her disciplined life. Enjoyably weaves elements of folk horror and feminism into one ambitious slow burner.

2 stars (Good Try) The story doesn't really go anywhere but the time and place are portrayed very strongly. You are in rural 17th century Shropshire. The misty photography is beautiful and the score spot on. ~Tubbs
4 stars (Very Good) Very unusual, beautiful & realistic - except for the sawn wood picket fence in front of the house & barn. Extraordinarily grim, moving and interesting to contemplate the rise of the Quaker Movement. However, this is not a true story. ~Anon
