La Sentinelle

Aroview: French chiller from director Arnaud Desplechin (A CHRISTMAS TALE) about a forensic medicine student who finds himself mysteriously in possession of a shrunken human head.

Suspecting the head was planted on him, he avoids reporting the incident and instead uses his skills to investigate its origins. Desplechin's first feature film, and although not as accomplished as his next, LA VIE SEXUELLE, it's still a worthwhile early demonstration of the film maker's unique style and characteristics. Desplechin regulars Emmanuelle Devos and Mathieu Amalric make brief appearances.
