Broken Trail (TV Mini-series)
Aroview: High calibrE made-for-TV western about an aging cowboy and his nephew who rescue five Chinese girls from a slave trader while transporting 500 horses from Oregon to Wyoming. Soon, their epic trek across the frontier is made even more perilous when a vicious gang of killers start hunting them down, hired by the whorehouse madam who originally paid for the girls.
Robert Duvall is terrific as you might expect, and the story (by Alan Geoffrion, based on his own novel) is a fascinating blend of two historical themes in the 19th century American West: the Chinese prostitution trade and the British Army's huge purchase of horses around the end of the century.
