A studio publicist (matinee idol Tyrone Power) makes a star out of a Minnesota skating teacher (played by Norwegian figure skater Sonja Henie), falling in love with her in the process. Set in the early days of Hollywood, the story intentionally imitates the epic search to find a suitable actress to play Scarlett O'Hara in GONE WITH THE WIND.
