Manchurian Candidate, The
Aroview: Politically-charged nail-biter with Frank Sinatra experiencing post-war paranoia about a fellow soldier who may have been brainwashed by the enemy. The ironies of extremist politics become disturbingly clear in this remarkably potent thriller.

4 stars (Very Good) A borderline-incompetent first act soon gives way to a tightly-wound political thriller pitched halfway between hallucination and documentary, a film that remains eerily prescient today. ~Anon
3 stars (Good Enough) The plot idea is very good even if the screenplay is a bit clunky at times. I've never rated Harvey as an actor but Angela Lansbury is superb and too strong for the rest of them. ~Tubbs
