Counterpoint

USA 1967, 100 minutes
Dir. Ralph Nelson
Genres: Classics, Drama / War, Classical Music

Topics: Period 1940s.

Synopsis: During World War II, a conductor (Charlton Heston) and his orchestra are captured by the Nazis while touring Europe. While held captive in a castle, they are instructed to prepare a concert for their captors, as the general (Maximillian Schell) is an aficionado of classical music. Interesting and somewhat unusual mixture of a war film, melodrama and classical music showcase, with a rather outlandish story.
