Scrapper
“Stylistically bold and youthful in approach, if sometimes a little uneven, it’s a picture packed full of ideas and fizzing energy.”~Wendy Ide, Screen Daily
Aroview: A cheeky charmer set in East London that refreshingly leans away from the miseries of working-class life, inspired as it was by Taika Waititi's "Boy".
Lola Campbell is terrific as a scrappy twelve-year-old living illegally on her own after her mother dies, only for her dead-beat Dad (Harris Dickinson, Triangle of Sadness) to turn up looking to reconnect after a twelve-year absence. Like AFTERSUN, it's a first-time feature by another young British Charlotte (Regan) about a father and daughter, and though it won't change your worldview, will keep multiple generations in your household engaged and amused.
