Aroview: A counterpart to Mizoguchi's other 1936 film SISTERS OF THE GION, featuring some of the same cast and crew and again focusing on the hardships faced by women. Young telephone operator Ayako rejects the advances of her CEO boss, but later becomes his mistress so that she can provide for her debt-ridden family.
