After The Rehearsal

Aroview: Television film from Ingmar Bergman, which takes place entirely within a theatre - wherein a veteran director reflects on his career and relationships while chatting with his flirtatious leading lady, who is the daughter of an old flame.

Apparently an autobiographical and confessional project for Bergman, which, like much of his work, focuses on fractious relationships. Though in this case the male lead is really an egomaniac with little to no redeeming features, which is less engaging than when both characters are a nuanced mixture of flaws and virtues.
