My Brother's Band
“Courcol packs a lot of story into his 104 minutes, but My Brothers Band always feels like it is unfolding at exactly the right pace.”~Graeme Tuckett, The Post
Aroview: An unabashed feelgood movie about two long-lost, new-found brothers who were raised on either side of the class divide, and who both share a talent for music.
One is a privileged orchestra conductor and the other a humble cook who plays in a rag-tag community brass band, played with charm by Benjamin Lavernhe and Pierre Lottin. It will take some doing to melt away the working-class chip on his shoulder, but music does much of the talking in a film that struck a chord at the French box office with both the common man and the bourgeoisie.
