Brassed Off
Aroview: Witty and warm-hearted comedy set in a Yorkshire mining community threatened with closure. Leading the town colliery brass band, Tara Fitzgerald, Ewan McGregor and Pete Postlethwaite capture the local imagination with an ambitious bid to win a national competition. Viewers, too, should prepare to be swept up in its infectious, melodramatic swirl...

3 stars (Good Enough) Entertaining, moving, and...? Ultimately empty. ~Sandy
3 stars (Good Enough) It has more than its share of cringe worthy moments but particularly in its first half, there is some wonderful verbal sparring to complement brass banding at its best. ~Tubbs
