Dir. David Lynch
Rating: [R18]
Genres: Suspense/Crime, Cult
Aroview: David Lynch's ground-breaking, brilliantly controlled work tells the story of a pure teenager (Kyle Maclachlan) whose curiosity embroils him in a web of violence and perversity. A surreal collage of sex, humour and Dennis Hopper in one of the nastiest roles ever committed to film.

4 stars (Very Good) Very high quality blu ray images combined with 50s US small-town life in a typical creepy Lynch style. Haunting, disturbing, incoherent, dream-like, brilliant. May be Lynch's best. Cruel & thuggish, but Rosselini is a hypnotic character. ~Sandy
4 stars (Very Good) Naive Jeffrey investigates a sinister find, uncovering the dark underbelly of his small suburban town. A mysterious cabaret singer, Dorothy, involved with a psychotic killer, Frank, become his main focus. A memorable, erotic, disturbing thriller. ~GenXGirl
5 stars (Exceptional) The bookends are gorgeous portraits but in between there is Dennis Hopper. Laura Dern is wonderfully innocent and contrasts with Isabella Rossellini whilst Dean Stockwell gives a memorable cameo. It is not faultless but it has won me over again. ~Tubbs
5 stars (Exceptional) Lynch's supurb mixture of suburban kitsch nostalgia and vulgar, fever dream-esc sequences create a wholly unique, mysterious and haunting experience. ~Bruno
