Queen Margot
Aroview: A bodice-ripping yarn of treachery and forbidden passions between warring Catholic and Protestant factions in late 1500s France. Isabelle Adjani's incandescent beauty contrasts the velvet-heavy production canvas upon which much debauchery and mayhem occurs. Classical and theatrical in the best tradition of Gallic period dramas.

4 stars (Very Good) Young Queen Margot finds herself trapped in an arranged marriage amidst a religious war between Catholics and Protestants. During the infamous St. Bartholomew's Day massacre, a badly wounded man knocks on Margot's door.. Epic French period drama. ~GenXGirl
2 stars (Good Try) Spending two hours with these characters was hard work. The screenplay soon became repetitive and it was difficult to sympathise with any squabble over religion. ~Tubbs
