Canterbury Tale, A
Aroview: A typically uncategorisable Powell/Pressburger movie, that draws on British eccentricities to flesh out its simple story about three wartime travellers, whose lives cross in a small English village beset by a night prowler. Note: has no direct relation to Chaucer's tales.

4 stars (Very Good) Wonderfully bizarre - seems to change genre from scene to scene. Definitely worth watching, it will radically expand your conception of 'wartime British cinema'. ~HiFi
4 stars (Very Good) Classic P&P where their feel for the essence of Englishness overcomes the inherent sentimentalities of the plot. ~FraserP
