Jackie Brown
Aroview: Quentin Tarantino follows-up the fireworks of PULP FICTION with a laidback ode to lowlife dreamers and schemers that reclines comfortably into a narrative of criminal cross and double-cross.
A typical QT cast of knowns and forgottens jostle for a dubious second-chance in a universe under the shadow of middle-aged loss. Eased by a hand-picked collection of 70s soul smoothies, and in fact an adaptation of Elmore Leonard's novel, "Rum Punch".

4 stars (Very Good) A much funnier and all-round better film than many would have you believe, Jackie Brown is typical Tarantino, with snappy dialogue and a myriad of pop-culture references. ~Tom H
3 stars (Good Enough) ~mvvm
4 stars (Very Good) Tarantino's most grownup, underrated film: his sparkling hipster-jive is still here, but the violence is toned down, allowing real feeling to creep in among the banter (for once). Too long, for sure, but the cast make a meal of every scene. ~fairbrother
