Les Miserables

USA 1935, 110 minutes, B/W
Dir. Richard Boleslawski
Rating: [G]
Genres: Classics / Epic

Topics: Tearjerker, Period - 1800s.

Aroview: Most faithful of the numerous film versions of Victor Hugo's novel, chronicling the lifelong harassment of reformed petty thief Ferric March by the sadistic police inspector Avert (Charles Laughton, in a classic performance), in Post-Revolution France. A few overt sentimentalism's, but still a meticulous production.
