Edward II
Aroview: Self-conscious updating of the Elizabethan play by Phillip Marlowe, imbued with a stagey panache by dir. Jarmen (a la WITTGENSTEIN), emphasizing themes of repression in the life of England's openly gay monarch from the 14th century. Features Tilda Swinton, Nigel Terry and a cameo from Annie Lennox.

3 stars (Good Enough) As expected, a little different. Although not all segments appealed, the creativity, and originality, deserve to be recognised. Tilda Swinton is a compulsory casting in this kind of thing. ~Tubbs
