Aroview: Update of the 'Cinderella' story tweaks the moral emphasis of the original Grimm fairy-tale. A brunette Drew Barrymore wrestles with an English plum-in-mouth while wooing Princely types in medieval France. Anjelica Huston and support cast too embace the spirit of pantomime, and Kiwi lass Melanie Lynsky does admirably as the sympathetic 'ugly sister'.

3 stars (Good Enough) Although there is a strong supporting cast headed by Anjelica Huston it is Drew that makes this so so screenplay watchable. ~Tubbs
