Bowfinger
Aroview: Steve Martin (as writer and actor) ropes in fellow fallen comic legend Eddie Murphy and scores a return to the form of his heyday.
The concept is wild, crazy and genius - Martin plays a hack film producer who fails to attract star talent Kit Ramsey (Murphy) to his shoestring sci-fi opus, 'Chubby Rain'. Refusing to take 'no' for an answer, he surreptitiously films his amateur cast accosting the unsuspecting, conspiracy-paranoid star with 'alien' dialogue from the script, then fills in the gaps with a dim-witted look-a-like. The satire is milked pretty thoroughly and scores some side-splitting laughs amid some occasional flab.

4 stars (Very Good) One of both Martin and Murphy's best movies. Very funny as well as boasting an ingenious story. ~dr.strangelove
2 stars (Good Try) Although the comedy doesn't rise to any great heights at least the premise has originality. Christine Baranski shows up best along with the under used Terence Stamp. ~Tubbs
