Fishing with John (TV Series)

Aroview: Neo-beatnik musician John Lurie hosts his own candid, off-beat TV show in which he takes a hipster celebrity pal on an exotic fishing trip.

A jolly excuse to get back to nature and engage in male bonding, it varies from frivolous and indulgent to hilarious and insightful, depending on the guest (Jim Jarmusch in Montauk, Matt Dillon in Costa Rica, Tom Waits in Jamaica, Willem Dafoe in Maine and two parts with Dennis Hopper in Thailand) and the fish. Six episodes complete. A Criterion DVD release.
