Eternity and a Day
Aroview: A slow, austere cinematic journey in which memories and present-day events mesh in the thought-processes of a dying Greek writer (Bruno Ganz). Confidently slow-moving, with an emphasis on poetry over plot, this challenging meander may leave some restless, but others dazzled, as were the Cannes Jury in 1998 who awarded it the Palm d'Or.
