Mystery Men
Aroview: Doing for the super-hero genre what PLEASANTVILLE did for 50s sitcoms, this frequently hilarious spoof sets a rag-tag team of super-hero wannabes into serious action when conceited crime-fighting ace Captain Amazing is ensnared by dastardly super-villain Casanova Frankenstein.
In exposing the men behind the silly costumes, the sardonic script and gleaming production design recalls the spirit of Tim Burton, palling only during the few action scenes.

3 stars (Good Enough) Can be very funny, but too often leans towards being crude. Also the plot kind off stinks. Hank Azaria is the high-point. ~dr.strangelove
2 stars (Good Try) Even if you get disinterested in the script and plot the talents of Macy, Rush and Garofalo etc. keep it interesting. ~Tubbs
