Odd Man Out
Aroview: James Mason, in one of his best roles, plays a wounded IRA-gunman hunted by police through a nightmare city-scape that clearly anticipates THE THIRD MAN. Slowly bleeding to death, Mason stumbles into the lives of various third-parties - housewife, priest, petty-crim, artist - who ultimately can not or will not help him. Never entirely sympathising with Mason, this is one of dir. Reed's most brilliant dramas of the modern world's peculiar moral grey-areas.

5 stars (Exceptional) Very powerful. ~Tom
3 stars (Good Enough) Well written with believable characters which is thanks in no small way to the casting. The street scenes were memorable wet and dry. ~Tubbs
