Boondock Saints, The
Aroview: Irish-Bostonian brothers Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus become vigilante saints after knocking off some Russkie wise guys, becoming most wanted by bent FBI agent Willem Dafoe and mystery assassin Billy Connelly. A zesty 'Tarantino-esque' gun comedy, loaded with stylish mayhem and smart-alec repartee.

4 stars (Very Good) Distinctive flair and action, with Irish anti-hero murdering religious-disciple wise-cracking brothers. We can't help but feel sympathetic to their cause, while quirky Dafoe is on their case, and mysterious Connolly makes a dramatic entrance. ~Tom H
1 star (Turkey) The cinematic equivalent of a drunk, scrap-ready frat-boy mouthing off at women, or 'hipsters', or anyone else who'd question his place at the center of the universe. Dafoe and Connolly deserve career hazard-pay for this. Agonizing. ~fairbrother
2 stars (Good Try) Its a bit gun obsessive but by being so maybe its trying to deliver an anti-gun message. The screenplay has energy but the attempt at offbeat characters misses by half a beat which is sufficient enough for them to become tiresome. ~Tubbs
