As one of Lemmon's first non-comic roles it revealed his depth as an actor. Henry Mancini's score won an Oscar.

2 stars (Good Try) Lemmon's oscar type acting gets on your nerves and wears you down before too long. The plot is worthwhile and the musical score memorable. ~Tubbs
