Handmaid's Tale, The
Aroview: Disturbing but thoroughly rewarding version of Margaret Atwood's novel set in a near future where 99% of women have become infertile. Privileged couple Faye Dunaway and Robert Duvall use handmaid Natasha Richardson as a surrogate birth-mother. Scripted by Harold Pinter.

4 stars (Very Good) A futuristic tale of a patriarchical society under martial law in which fertile women are captured & made into handmaids to bear children. Told through the eyes of Kate, as resistance movement begins to challenge the regime. Gripping & disturbing stuff. ~GenXGirl
3 stars (Good Enough) The performances are good but the strength is in the screenplay which is always interesting. ~Tubbs
