Flawless

Aroview: After suffering a stroke that leaves him part-paralyzed, an arch-conservative, retired security guard (Robert De Niro) agrees to let a drag queen teach him to sing as part of his speech therapy. If one can overlook some blinding obviousness, this small-scale comedy-drama has a performance to be relished in Philip Seymour Hoffman's turn as the hard-bitten transvestite with a heart of gold.
