Aroview: The return of Jesus Christ in the hours prior to Armageddon, December 31, 1999, is told in a series of wry, amusing and thoughtful scenes by indie dir. Hartley (HENRY FOOL). Shot on digital video (with an understated use of the available f/x) and featuring Martin Donovan as the man himself, rocker P J Harvey as Mary Magdalene and Thomas Jay Ryan as the Devil. Part of a French-funded low-budget film series based around the turn of the Millenium (which also included Don McKellar’s LAST NIGHT).
