Day Today, The (TV Series)

UK 1995, 86 minutes
Rating: [PG]
Genres: Television, Comedy / Spoof

Topics: Mock-umentary.

Aroview: Newscasting spoof with anchorman Christopher Morris (Chris Morris) and sportscaster Alan Partridge (Steve Coogan) who could be mistaken for the real thing if it weren’t for the more obviously comic sketches in between.

This day today (Vol. 1) contains footage of a helicopter being flown at the heads of small children by a dog, an American man being electrocuted while dressed as Elvis, gangsta rapper FUR Q shooting guns, the constitutional crisis that followed John Major's fight with the Queen, and an interview with a swimming pool attendant.

A sensation in the UK, it was possibly “too British” to have aired here in NZ, so here’s a chance for Brit-com (and Steve Coogan) fans to see what you missed.
