Strait-Jacket
Aroview: Joan Crawford fans won’t want to miss her slumming it as an axe-murderess, ‘reformed’ after twenty years in an asylum, but whose attempts to renew ties with her daughter are dogged by another round of head-rolling. Blatantly cashed in on the success of WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE, but is a camp classic in its own right, with dir. William Castle’s strongest gimmick of all (Ms. Crawford) and a favourite original screenplay by Robert ‘Psycho’ Bloch.
