Gosford Park
Aroview: A handsome recital of Agatha Christie-style whodunnit and ‘upstairs-downstairs’ class-drama set in the confines of an English country house in the 1920s, with a stellar cast providing the well-accustomed pleasures of the ensemble genre.
Dir. Altman (THE PLAYER, M*A*S*H), having his first hit in several years, sprinkles a little trans-Atlantic humour around the dinner-tables and pheasant shoots, but lacks resoluteness on the central murder-mystery, though it is garnished with various entertaining twists.

4 stars (Very Good) ~atsophie
5 stars (Exceptional) Forerunner of Downton Abbey and much better. Have watched it so many times. True the first time there seemed to be so much going on that I stopped worrying about whodunit for a while. ~wijehaba
