Aroview: This unusually-conceived sequel to THE WIZARD OF OZ is almost too scary for kids, with a disturbed Dorothy (Fairuza Balk) blown by a storm from a Kansas sanitarium into an Oz corrupted and subsumed by the forces of darkness.

Various malevolent characters like the Nome King (Nicol Williamson), a talking cliff-face, and especially the Mombi (Jean Marsh) turn Dorothy’s mission to reinstate Goodness into a nightmare. Excellent special f/x were Oscar-nominated.

3 stars (Good Enough) One of those movies to rent for you kids if you want them to be disturbed for a week, so as to share that experience with others, would recommend. ~Biggie
