Hitch-Hiker, The
Aroview: Weekend hunters Edmond O’Brien (D.O.A.) and Frank Lovejoy are terrorised by a psychotic, mass-murdering passenger (William Talman) in this influential suspenser. Bleak locales and emotional realism raise this to minor-classic status.

3 stars (Good Enough) William Talman is perfectly cast as the threat. No expense is spared on the desert locations or car - but a saving is made on the barking dog which is heard but not seen as it is shot off screen. The simple screenplay has a commendable no frills ending. ~Tubbs
