Cat's Meow, The
Aroview: Returning to the dir.’s chair, Peter Bogdanovich revisits one of the juiciest scandals in Hollywood history: the mysterious death of filmmaker Thomas Ince on William Randolph Hearst’s yacht in 1924.
Drawn into the affair were Charlie Chaplin (Eddie Izzard) and Hearst’s mistress Marion Davies (Kirsten Dunst), and this version of events (“the whisper heard most often”) stirs up a dry cocktail of social-paranoia, conspiracy and intense jealousies.
