X-Files, The - Season 4 (TV Series)
Aroview: Things get a little darker and much wider-spread in the fourth series, which both develops lots more mythology while raising the stakes for all the characters (Scully's cancer looms over the series and defines most of its forward momentum), and gives some fairly unusual colour additions to the main characters (Mulder's previous lives in The Field Where I Died, Scully getting a tattoo and having a casual pickup in Never Again, Cancer Man's habit of assassinating major 20th Century figures in Musings Of A Cigarette Smoking Man). Features a couple of the best episodes in any series, Home, about an inbred southern family, and Paper Hearts, featuring a great Tom Noonan role as a really nasty child murderer.
